Wellness and Recovery Promotion in Behavioral Health Services

Event Details

  • Date:

The underlying assumption of wellness and recovery promotion in behavioral health services is that behavioral health service providers are working from the perspective of a recovery-oriented system of care (ROSC). ROSC is a coordinated network of community-based services and supports that is person-centered and builds on the strengths and resilience of individuals, families, and communities to achieve improved health, wellness, and quality of life for those with substance use and mental disorders (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. 2011).

Your task, as a provider, is to keep consumers in the center of the conversation and support them in their efforts to actively engage in their own journey of recovery and wellness. This 4 week asynchronous online course will examine the principles of recovery-oriented care and some of the strengths based strategies you can employ to support consumers’ journeys.

This course is offered through the Co-Occurring Collaborative Serving Maine. For more information and to register go to https://ccsme.org/product/2021-wellness-and-recovery-promotion-in-behavioral-health-services/
